Results

We pride ourselves on giving our pupils the very best start to their educational journey.

We us a comprehensive range of assessment methods to ensure all our children reach their full potential. Our assessment framework is provided by GL Assessment, the leading provider of formative assessment in the UK and Ireland.

GL Assessment provides a simple way of for parent’s to determine their child’s ability against a Standard Age Score (SAS) Our assessment framework includes:

  • Progress in English (PTE) – pupils are assessed twice yearly at the start and end of the academic year.
  • Progress in Maths (PTM) pupils are assessed twice yearly at the start and end of the academic year.
  • Progress in Reading (NGRT) pupils are assessed three times a year at the start, end and mid-point of the academic year.
  • Verbal and Non Verbal reasoning (CAT4) – pupils are assessed at the start of Key Stage 2 and selectively throughout years 4 – 6
  • We also monitor our pupil’s emotional wellbeing through Pupil Attitude Toward Self and School (PASS) – these assessments take place twice yearly and are designed to help us ensure we understand how a child feels about themselves so that we can identify any potential barriers to learning.

Our grammar school pass rate for the 2023/24 academic year was 88%.

The mean Standard Age Group (SAS) for all year groups was rated ‘significantly above the national average’.

Year 2 – SAS score 104.5 

Year 3 – SAS score 110.9 with 63% of pupil achieved Higher or Much Higher levels of achievement.

Year 4 – SAS score 115.1, with 40% of pupil achieved Higher or Much Higher levels of achievement.

Year 5 – SAS score 112.3, with 67% of pupil achieved Higher or Much Higher levels of achievement.

Year 6 – SAS score 120.5, with 50% of pupil achieved Higher or Much Higher levels of achievement.

The mean Standard Age Group (SAS) for all year groups was rated ‘significantly above the national average’.

Year 2 – SAS score 100.5 

Year 3 – SAS score 105.4 with 38% of pupil achieved Higher or Much Higher levels of achievement.

Year 4 – SAS score 116.7 with 90% of pupil achieved Higher or Much Higher levels of achievement.

Year 5 – SAS score 116.3, with 44% of pupil achieved Higher or Much Higher levels of achievement.

Year 6 – SAS score 119.3, with 40% of pupil achieved Higher or Much Higher levels of achievement.
